Cristiano Ronaldo, the 37- year-old striker of Manchester United broke the record of leading goal scorer in professional football. He broke the record held by Josef Bican, who scored 805 goals. After breaking the record, he scored a record-breaking 59th Hat-trick in the game against Tottenham on Saturday.

CR7 is not a name that is a stranger in the football world. He is arguably the best player to have graced the game in history. On Saturday, Ronaldo was seen at his goal-scoring best. He scored the opening goal of the match in the 12th minute of the match. This was the 805th goal of his career, levelling with Josef Bican.

However, Ronaldo was not satisfied with just one goal. His second of the night came from Jordan Sancho’s pass in the 38th minute of the game. This recorded his 806th goal and he became the top scorer in professional football. After Spurs pulled back two goals, the match took an interesting turn but Ronaldo was in no mood to stop. He scored his third goal in the 81st minute, taking United in the lead again. This now meant that he has scored at least one hat-trick in each of the last 13 calendar years. This was his personal 59th hat-trick and first at Old Trafford since 2008.

Soon Ronaldo’s fans flooded the social media, heaping praise on the star. While some fans took this opportunity to call him C.O.W- Champion Of the World.
