NorthEast United FC and East Bengal FC locked horns in the 11th match of the Indian Super League 2022. The hosts NEUFC were there in the center with a lineup of 4-3-3 whereas EBFC fielded a lineup of 4-4-2 on the field. Both teams played this match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

Although, the hosts NEUFC practically dominated most of the moments in the match including the ball possession, pass accuracy, and shots as well. But eventually, they couldn’t have the last laugh at the time of the final whistle from referee Ashwin.

So, without further ado, here we’ll have a look at all the actions that happened in ISL 2022 after a break of three days between NorthEast FC and EBFC.

The match started with the first whistle having the presence of a wholesome crowd in the stadium. The match had reached only the 11th minute and EBFC’s Cleiton Silva amazed and stunned everyone with his amazing goal to give the initial lead in the favor of the visitors. Silva got a support and brilliant assist from Naorem Singh. East Bengal managed to maintain this lead till the end of the first half and arrived on the field with a 1-0 in the second half.

Only, a seven-minute game was played in the second half and Charis Kyriakou came up with a stunner on the assist of Suhair Vadakkepeedika in the 52nd minute to increase the lead by 2-0 in the favor of East Bengal FC. Now, the Bengal was comfortably in the winning position with a lead of two goals in their favor. Although, they also faced a setback when Thongkhosiem Haokip was shown a yellow card by the referee in the 69th minute of the match.

But the amazing goal from Jordan O’Doherty ended up all the bruises of yellow cards from EBFC and they came into the lead by a handsome score line of 3-0. Doherty was assisted by Mobashir Rahman in the 84th minute of the match.

Nonetheless, NEUFC’s Matt Derbyshire could only reduce the difference of defeat for his team by scoring the first goal in the very last 90th minute of the match.  Eventually, EBFC clinched the match by a margin of 3-1 and won the club award for bagging all three points. Whereas, Charis Kyriakou won the ‘hero of the match award for his match-defining performance.
