Hyderabad FC is set to sign Mumbai City FC goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz as a replacement for the injured Laxmikant Kattimani. A source close to the situation confirmed that he has agreed to a one-year contract with the club. The transition will be completed during the January transfer window.
Kattimani was sidelined for the remainder of the 2022-23 season after suffering an injury against Jamshedpur FC. This compels the Nizams to seek an equally competent, if not superior, responsible person. Nawaz appears to be a good fit for the team.
He is one of the most seasoned goalkeepers in Indian football. He began his football career at the AIFF Elite Academy and has since played for some of the country's top clubs, including FC Goa and Mumbai City FC. He has appeared in 17 games for Mumbai City FC, recording six clean sheets. Mohammad has also played for the Indian National Football Team at various age group levels. He was a member of the Indian National team's U-17, U-16, and U-23 teams.
Hyderabad FC is currently second in the table with 16 points from eight games. Hyderabad is being harmed by an out-of-form Bartholomew Ogbeche. It will be interesting to see how they replace Kattimani with Nawaz. On December 3rd, they will face Chennaiyin FC.
Hyderabad FC vs ATK Mohun Bagan
In the meantime, Hyderabad was defeated by ATK Mohun Bagan in its most recent game. From the first minute, the game was exciting. ATKMB scored the game's only goal, and its midfield magician Hugo Boumos was the difference between the two teams.
Liston Colaco had numerous chances to put the game away, but he fails to capitalise on several of them. HFC worked hard to find the equaliser; otherwise, it would have been difficult to digest. They fought until the very last second of the game. In the end, the Mariners won all three points.
