The legendary football player Pele passed away on December 30 at the age of 82 and fans are yet to come out of his death, although one has to agree that the Brazilian star was not in the pink of his health of late. On January 3, 2023, Tuesday, images surfaced on the internet where the head of FIFA Gianni Infantino was seen taking a selfie right in front of the legend’s coffin.

However, the images were not well received by the fans who claimed that it was a shameful act from a person holding a high position in the world body. On the other hand, Pele’s fans demanded severe action against the FIFA boss for his untimely and shameful act, which many considered was not appropriate to even think about.

In contrast, Infantino stressed a couple of days ago that he would be requesting every country to name a stadium after the passed legend, Pele. The Swiss-born said that the step would be important to inspire the upcoming generation and to take Pele’s name across the world, even to places where he is not much familiar.

“We have asked all football associations in the world to pay a minute of silence before every game and will also ask them, 211 countries, to name a stadium after Pele. Future generations must know and remember who Pele was,” Infantino was quoted as saying. However, his recent clicks with Pele’s coffin are doing rounds on the internet and the boss was slapped with criticisms, as fans left no stone unturned to make him pay for his actions.

However, Infantino is yet to open up on the same and it remains to be seen if Pele’s family would make a comment on it either. However, the pics shocked the football fans who are already in despair after the passing of one of the greatest to have ever played the sport. The FIFA president, on the other hand, would hope to sort things out and clarify the images that are putting him in a bad light and justifiably so.
