UOL Esporte’s journalist Bruno Andrade has revealed the projected Brazilian squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar starting later this month on the 20th of November. Rio-based 38-year-old center-back Thiago Silva is likely to lead the team studded with some renowned names including the likes of Marquinhos and Eder Militao.
The 26-men Seleção squad is projected to have 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, and 7 mid-fielders in their roster for the 22nd edition of the marquee football tournament. The team will also have PSG star Neymar in the lineup who was in the headlines a couple of days back due to some reportedly contractual rifts with his previous club.
The highlighted name who missed making a cut to the squad of the national team for FIFA 2022 is the 21-year-old Arsenal left-winger Gabriel Martinelli. Notably, Martinelli has made 102 appearances for the Gunners since his first appearance for the club three and a half years back on the 2nd of July 2019.
Coming back to Brazil’s squad for FIFA 2022, the two names who have reportedly made it to the roster are the 24-year-old Paulo-based right winger Antony alongside Barcelona’s Raphinha. Notably, both of these two players didn’t have much impact while appearing for their new clubs respectively.
