Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg believes that Ravichandran Ashwin should be included in the Indian ODI set up as it will add a lot of depth to the team. Hogg revealed that Ashwin’s presence will allow the Indian top order to play with more freedom.

Replying to a tweet, Hogg said that Ashwin will be a great addition to the Indian limited over team.

"I think it is a great option, gives the batting line up extra depth allowing the top order to be more aggressive at the top," Hogg said in reply to a tweet by a fan asking if Ashwin can make a comeback to ODI cricket. "And he is a wicket taking option with the ball, as well as economical. Get him back in. #INDvENG #Cricket," Hogg tweeted.

Ashwin, who’s a regular in whites hasn’t played ODI cricket for a while. The emergence of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have kept him out of the limited over set up. His last ODI appearance was in June 2017 against West Indies.

He's been in fine form in the ongoing Test series against England as well. In the third Test at Ahmedabad, he became the fourth Indian to take 400 wickets in Tests. Along with his bowling, Ashwin is a handy batsmen and stroked a classy hundred in the second Test in Chennai.
