Later on, the del Plata-based keeper went on to talk about the fairy tale title win of Argentina in the 22nd edition of the tournament. The Aston Villa goalkeeper said that they felt it was pre-destined in the fate of the team.

Emiliano dedicated the historic victory to his family. "It was a very complicated match, they came back to equalize in the game but it was our destiny to suffer," he added later.
"All that I have dreamed of has been achieved. I have no words for it and I was calm during the penalty shoot-out, and everything went as we wanted. I left very young for England. Eventually, I dedicate this victory to all my family,” he added later.
Speaking of the thrilling final between Argentina and France, the former dominated the first half of the match, thanks to the brilliant goals from skipper Lionel Messi and senior center-forward Angel de Maria. But the star French prodigy Kylian Mbappe turned the tables in favor of France. He smashed back-to-back stunners in the 80th and 81st minute of the match to level the score with a score line of 2-2.
Eventually, both Messi and Mbappe scored one goal each in the 108th and 118th minute of the match respectively which ended the match in a tie with the score of 3-3. But they were the Argentines who held their nerves to win the match by 4-2 in the penalty shootouts.
