Winning the UCL title is not a walk in the park at all and only the best teams throughout the season can get a good shot at it. 32 teams are competing this year with only 16 being able to qualify for the next round. Out of those 16, only the best can go on a run, and have a shot at lifting the crown.

5 sides that can lift the UEFA Champions League this season

5) Arsenal

Arsenal

It feels weird to talk about Arsenal lifting the Champions League or being amongst the favourites to lift the trophy, The past two seasons have shown why Arsenal’s young and fearless side has the belief of going on an unbelievable run. Trusting the process has yielded the side results and the way they are performing, they can cause problems to the big teams as well. If the luck is with Arsenal, this can be the season where they lift their first title.

4) Paris Saint Germain

Paris Saint Germain

The French champions, Paris Saint Germain always start the season as one of the firm favourites to win the league. Every season they possess one of the best squads in the world that can lift the title by the end of the year. However, luck has not favoured them at all in the last decade or so. Their biggest achievement has been to reach the final in 2020 and are now struggling to go past the Round of 16 for the past two seasons. They again have one of the top teams this year but if they have the belief to win the coveted crown, they can lift the title in May.

3) Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich

Although they have been their league's dominant team, their performance in Europe over the past several seasons has been lacking. Key players have been added to the team and their side is currently unbeaten in all competitions till now. Bayern have an experienced and proven coach in Thomas Tuchel, who is very good at knockout competitions. After taking over the team midway through the 2020–21 campaign, Tuchel guided Chelsea to Champions League triumph. His side has been dominant till now but if they make the extra push, they might be one of the top teams to lift the trophy.

2) Manchester City

Manchester City

Last season, Manchester City lifted the Champions League for the first time ever. It was a significant moment in Cityzens' history. It would be unwise to rule out them winning the Champions League again after they have become such an overwhelming force under Pep Guardiola. However, when they are at their peak, these talented players are already giving other teams trouble.  When it comes to winning the 2023–24 Champions League, City is one of the early favourites. They would undoubtedly be among the greatest and most worthy teams to win the championship if they could pull off the double.

1) Real Madrid

Real Madrid

It would be criminal to talk about Champions League favourites and not talk about the most featured and successful team in the history of the competition. Even in their worst season, they have gone on incredible runs and lifted the trophy. In the 2021–2022 season, Real Madrid won the Champions League under Carlo Ancelotti's leadership. The Champions League is always one of the main targets of the La Liga powerhouses, who also boast a very skilled roster. With a united and happy squad, Real Madrid are odds-on favourites to win the title for the 15th time this year.
