More than the teams, it was the pitch that was the topic of discussion ahead of the fourth test between India and England. Most of the experts were of the opinion that the pitch will start turning from ball one. Even Joe Root said the same at the toss. However, the first session is over and we have not seen any drastic turn as of yet. Axar Patel accounted for the openers before Mohammed Siraj got the English skipper, Joe Root plumb, leaving England reeling at 30-3.

Siraj was pumped after Root’s wicket and bowled a ferocious bouncer to Ben Stokes, who responded with few nasty words to the pacer. This irked the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli who got behind his pacer and had a few exchange of words with Stokes.

"May be it's not quite so friendly, umpire has stepped in, I want a clean fire lads, nothing below the belt," the on-air commentator was heard saying.

The banter between Stokes and Siraj continued in the next over as well where Stokes managed to fetch twelve runs, courtsey of three boundaries. However, two of them were not convincing and came off the edges.

Earlier, Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat. They have made two changes in their playing XI and have brought in Dan Lawrence and Dom Bess in place Jofra Archer and Stuart Broad. The game in very important in the context of the World Test Championship. India need to escape a defeat in order to face New Zealand in the summit clash
