The Indian contingent is currently performing best among all the participating Asian nations in the Commonwealth Games 2022. They have won five gold medals, five silver, and four bronze medals so far in the Birmingham Games. Weightlifters have won the highest of nine medals from the total of India’s 14 medals in CWG 2022.
On Tuesday, the 3rd of August, weightlifter Lovepreet Singh won the bronze medal in the men’s 109 kg category. Other than him, there have been further developments for the Indian contingent on day 6 of the games. In another event, boxers Mohammed Hussamuddin, and Nitu Ganghas advanced into the semi-finals of their respective weight categories.
