The Indian contingent has won 9 medals till now at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Weightlifting is dominating the tally of sports in which Indian athletes won the medals in their respective categories. Indian weightlifters have won a total of seven medals in the CWG 2022 so far. Notably, the three gold medals have been won by the weightlifters for India.
Other than this, Indian judokas Sushila Devi Likmabam and Vijay Yadav have won silver and bronze medals respectively in their categories. Apart from this, the Indian women’s team of lawn bowls has also secured a medal by reaching the finals of their event at the Birmingham Games.
In a latest update, the Indian women’s lawn bowls team won the historic gold on day 5 in the final of the event against South Africa. It is the first-ever gold medal for India in the history of the sport at the Commonwealth Games.
