The penultimate day of the CWG 2022 went very fruitful for the Indian contingent. Indian players bagged a couple of gold medals and some other medals to increase the number of medals in the tally. Boxers made it triple gold in their respective categories including the likes of Amit Panghal, Nikhat Zareen, and Nitu Ghanghas. Whereas Sagar Ahlwat won bronze in his category.
Apart from this women’s hockey team bagged a bronze medal after defeating New Zealand in the bronze medal match. Almost at the end of the day, the women’s cricket team of India fell 9 runs short of the Gold medal against Australia. Eventually, they won the silver medal at the first-ever event of cricket in the Commonwealth Games.
