Shahid Afridi is currently busy playing for the Asia Lions in the ongoing LLC Masters. On 20 March 2023, his team will take on World Giants in the final. However, he has enjoyed a great tournament so far as a skipper. He guided his team to two victories against India Maharajas and get qualified for the final.

But, Afridi always remains in the headlines by making some comments on the political relationship between India and Pakistan. Recently, India cleared their stance that they will not visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Now regarding that, reporters asked Afridi and in reply, the former Pakistan skipper called the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Jahil’ indirectly.

Speaking of the interview, the reporters asked thaat how can Pakistan expect India to go there for playing the Asia Cup in 2023. They also claimed that many abrupt comments always come up for the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, especially regarding the whole Kashmir matter between two countries. In reply to that, Shahid Afridi said Modi ‘Zahil’ (foolish or ignorant) indirectly. He claimed that he has always spoken for the people in Kashmir. Afridi also ensured that he will always talk about a ‘Zahil’ person from any corner of the world irrespective of his religion.   

Recently while taing to Saama TV, Afridi opened up about India’s stance on visiting Pakistan for the Asia Cup. He said: If anyone is unable to stand on his own feet and then the decision to make such strong calls is not easy. They have to look at plenty of things. India agar aankhe dikha raha hain (If India is showing you their eyes), or taking such strong stance, then they have made themselves that strong, hence they are being able to talk like this, otherwise they wouldn’t have the courage. At the end it’s making yourself strong and then take decisions.”
