Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik made it to the headlines of social media after having an amazing moment during the first of the three-match T20I series. Notably, the men in blue hosted the Australian team in the curtain raiser. Speaking about Rohit Sharma, then he was at his hilarious best in some of his reactions.
The 35-year-old senior skipper went on to celebrate the wicket of Australian batter Glenn Maxwell by grabbing the face of senior wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. Speaking of the match, then it was a sort of roller coaster ride for both teams. Batting first at the PCA stadium, the Indians posted a total of 208 runs for the loss of six wickets. Hardik Pandya smashed a blistering knock of 71 runs off just 30 balls with seven boundaries and five sixes to his name. Other than him, star batter KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored 55 and 46 runs respectively.
Nathan Ellis scalped three wickets by conceding 30 runs in his quota of four overs. While chasing the target, Australians managed to cross the line in 19.2 overs with a score of 211 runs for the loss of six wickets. Eventually, they won the match by four wickets and gained the lead of 1-0 in the series. Cameron Green played an excellent match-winning knock of 61 runs with eight boundaries and four sixes on his account.
Other than his batting, Green also scalped wicket while bowling for his team in the first Innings. He was adjudged player of the match for his performance.
Now, both teams will lock horns in the second of the three-match T20I series at Nagpur.
