Star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma is in the headlines since the time she attempted a controversial ‘Mankading’ run-out against England women in the third of the three-match ODI series. It has divided the cricketing fraternity into multiple opinions as everybody has something different to say on all this that happened in the last match of the series between India and England.
As the Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur went on to defend her teammate by calling that ‘fair and within the rules. Whereas on the other hand, some experts and former cricketers are targeting Deepti by saying that her attempt is against the spirit of the game.
In the same sequence, former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Asif tweeted on this issue. He questioned the intention of the Indian bowler and termed her a ‘cheater’.
This tweet from Asif didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans and they took no time in trolling the 39-year-old. The fans also recalled Asif about his controversial days in cricket when he was actively playing for Pakistan.
Here’s the tweet from Mohammad Asif for Deepti Sharma
We can see it clearly there is no intention of bowling the ball, she is looking towards non striker batter to cheat him.

Here’s how fans reacted to Asif’s tweet:
Everyone has an opinion but it's well within the law and approved by 3rd umpire. Well u have experience of not following the icc rules and spirit of game.

Speaking of the match between India women and England women, then English skipper Amy Jones won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first on the turf of the Lord’s stadium. Batting first, the Indian team was struggling in the beginning, but the struggling knocks of 50 and 68 runs from star opener Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma respectively helped India to reach a respectable total.
India managed to post a total of 169 runs after losing all wickets in 45.4 overs. While defending the target, Indian bowlers gave no chance to the English batters as they bundled them up only on the score of 153 runs. Star pacer Renuka Singh scalped four wickets by conceding only 26 runs in her quota of 10 overs. She was also adjudged player of the match for her match-winning performance.
Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the award of player of the series for her stellar performances throughout the entire series against England.
