Despite looking good during his stay at the crease, Virat Kohli was dismissed for 35 on day one of the Centurion Test. While it is no secret that the batting maestro hasn't been at his best for quite a while now, he gave away a good start, and got out to a nothing delivery.

Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar, however, found a flaw in his batting technique. He recently spoke about how the Delhi batter relies on driving the ball. While speaking on Star Sports, he analysed his dependence on his front foot shots.

"But for me, he relies on driving the ball. Against quicker attacks on seaming pitches, you require one more game. You can't only rely on the front foot shots. If he only relies on that particular shot, the bowlers will continue to drag him wider and wider and hope they find the outside edge,” said Sanjay Bangar.

He then further tried to decipher the batting legend's approach. The former Indian cricketer even said that it would be great if India's red-ball captain can work on his back foot shots. However, he also felt that the 33-year-old was too obsessed with scoring runs off his front foot.

"It will be worth it if Virat Kohli can give a thought to developing some sort of a response off the back foot as well. Otherwise, he just seems to be preoccupied with scoring runs off the front foot," he said. Thus, the  49-year-old felt that Kohli needed to open the option of scoring runs off the back foot. An important point to be noted is the fact that the batting sensation was practising under Bangar just before making his return to Test cricket during the home series against New Zealand.
