Gujarat Giants and Bhilwara Kings locked horns in the eliminator of the Legends League Cricket 2022. Giants’ skipper Parthiv Patel won and decided to bat first in Jodhpur. Batting first, Gujarat Giants posted a total of 194 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, Bhilwara Kings crossed the line in 18.3 overs to win the match by six wickets and scored 195 runs for the loss of four wickets. They have also qualified to the final of the tournament with this win in the eliminator.

Speaking of the match, the Giants faced some early blows as they lost the wickets of Chris Gayle and skipper Parthiv Patel on a total score of 36 runs. Tillakaratne Dilshan played a fine knock of 36 runs off just 26 balls with five boundaries and a six to his name. Other than him, Yashpal Singh and Kevin O’Brien also scored 43 and 45 runs respectively.
On the backs of these knocks, Giants managed to post a total of 194 runs for the loss of nine wickets on board in the allotted 20 overs. S. Sreesanth scalped two wickets for the Kings in the first innings. Whereas, other bowlers except for Jesal Karia and Yusuf Pathan, scalped one wicket each.
While chasing the target, former Irish legend William Porterfield played a brilliant knock of 60 runs off 43 balls with six boundaries and three sixes on his credit. Other than him, a 31-run knock from Morne van Wyk and a 48-run knock from Shane Watson helped the Kings to chase down the target of 195 runs in 18.3 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Porterfield won the ‘player of the match award for his match-defining knock for the Kings in a must-win match of the tournament.
