Shoaib Malik says he still wants to continue playing T20I cricket for Pakistan if given the opportunity. He last played a T20I in 2021.

Shoaib Malik has gone on record and stated that he is available to play T20Is for the Pakistan side. Malik stated that he wants to make a comeback in the shortest format of the game. Malik then stated that he will not be making a comeback in ODIs and Tests for the Men in Green. Malik last played a T20I for Pakistan in 2021.

"When I was dropped from the Pakistan team, my performances and stats were very good. I have retired from Tests and ODI and I have no plans of making a comeback in those formats. However, I am ready to return to the T20 team if they call me. But I don't expect anything from the captain, the selectors, or the PCB. I have zero expectations from anyone. I am fit and will continue as long as I enjoy playing," Malik said to Pak TV.

The All-rounder has been a globe-trotter all around the world in T20 Leagues. He is currently playing for Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League. In Kings game against Dambulla Aura, Malik smashed an unbeaten 74 off 53 balls with five fours and six sixes. With the ball, he picked up 2-13 in his four overs.

In 124 T20Is, the all-rounder has scored 2345 runs at an average of 31.21. He has got the highest score of 75. With the ball, he has picked up 28 wickets at an average of 24.10. Malik has shown time and again that he is still a force to reckon with in the shortest format of the game. Malik then spoke about Pakistan's chances in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

"All the participating teams will be under pressure during the World Cup, and the same goes for Pakistan. However, Pakistan have been playing very well, and a lot of players are in great form currently. My hopes are very high." He said. Pakistan will play an ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka and then play the Asia Cup.
