Rohit Sharma led his men to a thumping victory over Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Nagpur. The team India skipper had a great game both as a batter and leader. He scored a fantastic ton on that turning track as it helped India to reach the 400-run mark in their first innings.

Now, from that match, a video has gone viral on social media platforms where Rohit Sharma was seen drinking a substance from a bottle. But, he quickly realized that it was empty and looked absolutely clueless. Fans find that video very funny and they shared some funny tweets in reply to that.

Here is the shared video:

“Happy that I could put the performance for the team.” - Rohit Sharma

Speaking about his innings, Rohit Sharma opened up about it during the post-match chat. He said: “Very important at the start of the series. Happy that I could put the performance for the team. Was unfortunate that I had to miss a few Tests because of injuries but I’m happy to be back. Since I was appointed Test captain, have played just two Tests. Got Covid in England, missed South Africa, got a freak injury against Bangladesh.”

Regarding his approach while batting, Rohit Sharma said: “In the last few years, the kind of pitches we are playing on in India, you need to have application and some sort of plan to score runs. I’ve grown up playing a lot in Mumbai on surfaces that turn a lot. You need to be slightly unorthodox as well, use your feet. Need to put pressure on bowlers as well by doing something different. And that difference could be whatever suits you - using your feet, sweeping, reverse-sweeping.” He also acknowledged the impact of the seamers apart from his spinners. Now, again Rohit Sharma will be in action when India will take on Australia in Delhi for the second Test on 17 February 2023.
