Top-ranked Australia bowled out the West Indies for 77 runs on Sunday, winning the day-night second Test in Adelaide by 419 runs and clinching the series 2-0. The visitors resumed day four on 38-4 and were all out in the first session, with Mitchell Starc and Michael Neser doing the damage to cap off an overwhelmingly lopsided campaign.
On day one, Travis Head smashed 175 and Marnus Labuschagne hit 163, and Australia never looked back. It propelled them to a declared total of 511-7, with the visitors being dismissed for 214 before Australia posted a quickfire 199-6 to set the West Indies a total of 497 to win.
After Scott Boland bowled a sensational three-wicket maiden under the lights on Friday evening, the Caribbean side were never in contention. Devon Thomas and Jason Holder, both on eight, slogged out on an overcast Sunday, still, 459 runs behind and defeat looming.
Carey held a juggling catch from Neser to dismiss Roston Chase for 13, and the same pair combined again in the same over to dismiss Joshua Da Silva for 15. Lyon dismissed Alzarri Joseph before Carey and Neser struck again to dismiss Marquino Mindley and end the game.
"Nice toss to win, boys batted particularly well the first day. The partnership between Marnus and Travis set the game up for us. It's been a good week. Everyone is contributing when they need to and we got a lot of trust in each other and sets us up really nicely," captain Steve Smith said after the match.
Speaking about Marnus Labuschagne, who scored 502 runs in the series, including three hundreds, Smith said that he adapts to every situation. "He (Marnus) is batting really well and very adaptable to whichever situation in that time and no reason why he can't continue that form further," he said.
"Last night he (Boland) was spectacular, Ness has been excellent today and Starc keeps doing what he does best for a number of years now. Pretty incredible to have 4 guys (Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood, Lyon) played with each other for such a long time now, great to see them doing so well and exciting time for us," he added.

Obviously a bad day for the West Indies but the upside is they could really build a powerhouse squad around Roston Chase #AUSvsWI #AUSvWI #CmonAussie #MenInMaroon
