India and Sri Lanka locked horns in a one-sided affair during the third and last of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The hosts’ skipper Rohit Sharma had an upper hand at the time of the toss and elected to bat first at the tricky and tough surface of the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
Batting first, the men in blue posted a big total of 390 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 50 overs courtesy of the two brilliant centuries from Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli respectively.
While defending the target, the Indian bowling lineup led by the pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj, completely outmuscled the visitors’ batting lineup and bundled them up only on the score of 73 runs in 22 overs.
The fans also went overjoyed after this mammoth victory of Rohit Sharma’s men and the 3-0 series win against Sri Lanka. Ardent Indian cricket lovers took to Twitter to shower their praises on the Indian team and heaped praises on both the batters and bowlers for this emphatic win against the Islanders.
