Indian opener, KL Rahul, has been enduring a lean patch and a lot of fans have called for his exclusion from the playing XI. Former Indian fast bowler, Venkatesh Prasad has also come hard huge at the right-handed batsman and the Indian management for giving KL Rahul a longer rope than many other players in the Indian cricket set-up.
Venkatesh Prasad has been continuously bashing the Indian opener for his poor run with the bat in the longest format of the game. Amidst that, former Indian cricketer, Akash Chopra has also come to the defense of KL Rahul. Chopra has been backing Rahul vehemently on his YouTube videos despite the Indian cricketer's poor run.
KL Rahul's form also became a subject of discussion for both Prasad and Chopra. However, what started as a discussion a few days ago has now taken the avatar of a Civil War on social media.
In the recent turn of events, Akash Chopra made a video in which he pointed out the critical views of Venkatesh Prasad with regards to KL Rahul's form. Now, in response to Akash Chopra's video, Venkatesh Prasad also shared a thread on his Twitter handle, while explaining why he isn't in favour of KL Rahul persisting in the playing XI.
He also referred to an old tweet of Akash Chopra, where the former Indian batsman made a mockery of Rohit Sharma by calling him “talented” while the current captain was under-performing.
"So my friend Aakash Chopra after making a vile video on YouTube this morning where he calls me an agenda peddle, conveniently and cleverly misquotes me, removes Mayank’s average of 70 at home, wants to gag views which are not in line with what he believes but wanted Rohit out." Prasad wrote in his Tweet. Here's a look at the complete thread:

The former right-hand bowler has clarified that he has no personal agenda against the 31-year-old. He also mentioned that he admires the way Akash Chopra puts his efforts on the internet, but he disliked how he himself was portrayed.
The Karnataka batsman has been going through a rough patch of form but Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma have shown complete faith in KL Rahul. After the second Test, Rohit Sharma reiterated the potential of the 31-year-old while mentioning the centuries that KL Rahul scored in England and South Africa.
With time ticking for the Indian Test team, it remains interesting to see if KL Rahul remains as the opener for the third Test against Australia considering the quality batsmen like Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan waiting in the ranks.
Here's a look at how fans reacted to Venkatesh Prasad's recent Tweet in response to Akash Chopra's video on Youtube:

Now the battle is on Twitter.
Mr Prasad ur heroics in 1996 WC QF against pakistan would be remembered forever. I think Chopra has forgotten the way you strike back when people provoke you. Akash Chopra must learn from what Aamir Sohail had to face n suffer forever.

This fight will make KL Rahul's career more memorable than his own numbers.

On a funnier note, a Kannadiga is promoting a Punjabi Batsman and Delhite is protecting a Bangalore guy, each basing his opinion on merits and demerits. Country has never been more united 🤣🤣🤣

Everyone should show such aggression bcos #KLRahul has already given enough chances!!
Venky sir you don’t have to justify for what you think about KL or Mayank or Jetha Lal. It’s your opinion and that’s his opinion. Also, we can’t forget that Aamir Sohail wicket back in the 90s. We love you for that. 🫡
