Shan Masood is currently busy playing in the ongoing Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans. As of now, he has scored 156 runs in seven innings. However, he has become an integral part of the Men in Green in recent months. He was also an essential part of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Masood was Pakistan's joint-highest-scorer at the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He scored 174 runs in seven innings during that mega event. He played under the captaincy of Babar Azam and now, Shan Masood came out with a statement regarding their commitments for the Pakistan skipper.

“We are ready to give our lives for Babar Azam" - Shan Masood

In an interview with a local media news channel, Shan Masood said that the whole Pakistan team are behind Babar and they are fully in support of him in every way possible. He said: “We were ready to give our lives when Sarfaraz Ahmed was our captain, and now we are ready to give our lives for Babar Azam".

The star batter also opened up about the criticism their skipper faces on a regular basis. "We watch a lot of news on criticism of the team but we don't get bothered by them as our mutual goal is to play for our country," Masood said.  

He also expressed that Shaheen Afridi is the current best bowler in the world. "If you are surviving Shaheen's first over and also hitting a six, it means that you are playing very well as he is the number one bowler in the world right now," Shan Masood concluded. Speaking about his international career, Masood has played 53 matches so far across all three formats. He has scored 2006 runs, including four centuries and 10 fifties. But, hearing such comments from the star batter, fans came up and trolled him heavily on social media. Some fans also claimed that they should focus on playing cricket rather than giving their lives for the game.
