England veteran player Danielle Wyatt is in India to take part in the second season of the Women’s Premier League. The 32-year-old is set to play for the UP Warriorz during the upcoming season.
Recently the English star spoke to The Quint and shared an interesting and funny experience with Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper had gifted Danielle Wyatt a bat way back in 2014.
Danielle Wyatt said, "The bat gifted by Kohli wasn’t really good, I only used it twice." The funny answer had many cricket fans in splits. For the unversed, Wyatt had once taken to social media and expressed her desire to marry the Indian star.

England star player Danielle Wyatt is happy and excited to be part of the WPL 2024 season. The 32-year-old is set to turn up for the UP Warriorz side and hopes to take her team to the title win this season.
When asked by The Quint on who her idol growing up was, Wyatt replied “David Beckham, He’s always been my idol growing up”. David Beckham is the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and England star. The former football star has a huge following across the world.
Danielle Wyatt was also asked to name her favourite opponent. There were no surprises when she said “Love playing against India because I’ve had success against them in the past." During the chat, Wyatt was asked to name one player from the current Indian team who could play for the England eves. “Smriti Mandhana, I love batting with her in the Hundred. We bat well together. She has strengths and weaknesses, so do I. We complement each other quite well”
The first game of the tournament is set to be played on Friday in Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Mumbai Indians who are the defending champions will take on Delhi Capitals. 20 league phase matches will be played before one eliminator and the final.
