Sri Lanka and Pakistan locked horns with each other in the final of the Asia Cup 2022. Both teams performed amazingly in the group stage and super-4 round of the tournament. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and asked the Islanders to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Sri Lanka couldn’t have a good start as they lost their five wickets only on the score of 58 runs.
Although, this defeat doesn’t go down well with the Pakistani cricket fans and they went on to blame the star batter Mohammad Rizwan for his slow knock in the final of the tournament.
They trolled the 30-year-old batter on the social media platform Twitter. Notably, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed were the only two batters who crossed the 30+ run mark for Pakistan in the title clash of the tournament.
Here’s how fans reacted to the half-century knock of Mohammad Rizwan:
Well played Mohammad Rizwan for Sri Lanka.💔🤧

Skipper Babar Azam started the innings for Pakistan with senior batter Mohammad Rizwan to chase the target of 171 runs posted by Sri Lanka. Babar Azam fell prey to Sri Lankan pacer Liyanagamage in the fourth over of the match. Babar could score only five runs off six balls.
Since then, Rizwan tried to take the charge but he ended up scoring 55 runs off 49 balls with four boundaries and a six to his name. The KP-born senior lad scored the runs in his innings with a slow strike rate of 112.24.
While chasing the target of 171 runs, Pakistan was looking quite good till the 14th over when Rizwan and Iftikhar were there in the middle for the run chase. But, the wicket of Iftikhar in the 14th over proved to be a vital moment for the Pakistani side. It was the moment when things went south for the men in green and eventually, they could score only 147 runs for the loss of all wickets in 20 overs. Lankan tigers won the final by 23 runs to register the sixth title win in the history of the Asia Cup.
