The rift between Indian star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja and the Chennai franchise came to the light after the former deleted all his Instagram posts related to the franchise on July 9.

Jadeja has been associated with the Chennai franchise for a decade now and has been an integral part of the franchise. The all-rounder was handed over the captaincy duties of the team ahead of the Indian T20 League 2022. The reigning champions of the tournament had a forgettable outing during the season as they were knocked out during the league stage only for the second time in the tournament's history. Seeing the team’s dismal performance, the management decided to hand over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni.

After Dhoni took the captaincy, the 33-year-old was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an injury and was only seen in the Indian colours, later on. Jadeja has not been quite open about his captaincy stint in the recent season and his sudden deletion of the posts hints at a possible rift between him and the franchise. The Chennai franchise has, however, denied reports of any such rift between them and Jadeja, while many fans are of the opinion that the all-rounder might not play for the franchise ever again.

Notably, the star-allrounder shared a strange story on his Instagram account on July 18, further hinting that ‘all is not well’ between him and the franchise. The story read ‘Don’t lower your standards for anyone or anything. Self-respect is everything.’

The Chennai franchise remains active on their social media handles and posts about the achievements of their players whenever they do well for their respective countries. Amidst all the rumours, the franchise has kept on backing Jadeja as he’s been doing really well for India.

But Jadeja hasn’t acknowledged any of the posts from the franchise by dropping a 'like’ or a ‘comment’ on their posts, which he usually does. Following his story on Instagram, the fans took to Twitter, urging the all-rounder to not leave the Chennai team.
