On 21 July 2023, Toronto Nationals (TN) locked horns with Vancouver Knights (VK) in the second game of the ongoing Global T20 (GT20) Canada season 3 in Brampton. Due to rain and a wet outfield, the match got reduced to 15 overs. However, TN managed to win the game by nine wickets.
Colin Munro won the Player of the Match award. But, from the match, a video went viral where VK’s Vriitya Aravind was seen showing his 360-degree shots. He was seen hitting a four with a flick to Deep mid-wicket while a six to Third man with a reverse scoop. Meanwhile, it was the third over and Faheem Ashraf was bowling that over.

Vriitya Aravind scored 31 runs off 19 balls
Speaking of the match, the VK skipper, Rassie van der Dussen won the toss and opted to bowl first. While batting first, TN scored 151 runs for three wickets in 15 overs. Colin Munro was the star with the bat as he scored 78* runs off 45 balls, including six fours and six sixes. For the second wicket, he and Nicholas Kirton put up a partnership of 76 runs. Former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi was in action also as he played a quickfire cameo. He scored 23 runs off 12 balls, including two fours and two sixes. For VK, Reeza Hendricks, Nawab Singh, and Corbin Bosch took one wicket each.
In reply, VK batters managed to score only 142 runs in 15 overs for four wickets. Hendricks managed a four-ball duck while Fakhar Zaman scored 36 runs off 24 balls, including two fours and two sixes. Aravind scored 31 runs off 19 balls, including three fours and two sixes and van der Dussen smashed 51 runs off 24 balls, including two fours and five sixes. For TN, Gerhard Erasmus took two wickets while both Zaman Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi grabbed one wicket each. With this win, TN are now in the third position at the table with two points and a net run rate of +0.600.
