The 49th game of the Indian T20 League 2022 between Bangalore and Chennai saw the Faf du Plessis-led side emerge victorious. They beat the yellow army by 13 runs. This win comes as a massive confidence booster for the Bangalore-based franchise as they had lost three consecutive games prior to their encounter against Chennai.
Besides, they had to win on Wednesday as the race to the playoffs is getting intense with every passing game. However, this match saw a shocking moment. Virat Kohli was apparently seen using an abusive word after the wicket of MS Dhoni. It is to be noted that the two cricketers share a great bond, and were teammates in the Indian team for a really long time.
Nevertheless, Kohli has been known to blatantly express his emotions during games. Thus, he was aggressively celebrating out of joy after the Chennai skipper was dismissed. It didn't take too long for the video of the same to go viral. As Dhoni has been in decent touch in this edition, Bangalore couldn't take anything for granted until he was at the crease. It was during the first ball of the 19th over when the keeper-batter had to return to the pavilion.

Scenes after Ms Dhoni's Wicket find the difference 🙂
As a Virat Kohli fan, this behaviour is unexpected from him. He could've celebrated the wicket by not using this foul language. On the field, behaviour matters in the game of cricket. pic.twitter.com/Ulwi1AisvS
He tried to clear the ropes, only to find the fielder. This put the final nail in Chennai's coffin. At the end, Chennai were able to only score 160, and fell short of their target by 13 runs. As the Chennai-based franchise couldn't win this game, their chances of making it to the playoffs are more or less over.
The Chennai skipper drew light on the game. He criticized his batters, and criticized their shot selection. Dhoni also spoke about how they lost wickets at regular intervals.
"We did well to restrict them to 170-odd runs. I felt in the later half it (the surface) could be better and we had to get off to a good start, everything was up to the mark and what let us down was the batsmanship. When you are chasing you know what is required and at times you have to curb your instinct and see what really the situation is demanding rather than playing your shots. The shot selection could have been better towards the end. We had a good start and had wickets in hand, the surface kept getting better but we lost wickets at regular intervals," said MS Dhoni during the post-match presentation.
