India and Bangladesh are locking horns in the first of the two-match Test series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhary Stadium in Chattogram. Bangladesh is currently chasing the target of 513 runs in the second innings to win the match against KL Rahul’s men. The hosts ended up scoring 272 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Debutant Zakir Hasan made his maiden Test century only in the first match of this career. Apart from that, the youngster wicket off Ravichandran Ashwin was also the headline due to the brilliant effort of former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli.
Ashwin ended Zakir’s century-knock in the 79th over of the fourth innings, the 36-year-old Indian veteran trapped the youngster in a spin web, and the latter ended up lofting the ball in the air. One of the quickest fielders of India Virat Kohli.

Speaking of the remaining position of the match after the end of the fourth day, the hosts now Bangladesh now require 265 runs to win the match. Whereas, KL Rahul & co are just four wickets away from a victory in the series opener of the two-match series.
Earlier, the Indian team declared the second innings with a score of 258 runs for the loss of two wickets. The senior Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara scored his 19th Test Ton after a long wait of more than 1000 days, the 34-year-old scored 102 runs off just 130 deliveries to score the quickest Ton of his Test career. He accompanied the young Indian opener Shubman Gill who scored 110 runs with 10 boundaries and three sixes on his credit.
Notably, it was also the maiden Test century for the 23-year-old Gill, although he was also on the receiving end of criticism for throwing his wicket.
