Team India arrived in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, October 1 for their second 2023 ODI World Cup warm-up match. The Men in Blue will take on the Netherlands at the Greenfield International Stadium on October 3 in what will be the final practice match for both teams ahead of the showpiece event.
As the Indian players walked out of the airport terminal, a large crowd of supporters who had gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars chanted 'India, India'. In a video released by news agency ANI, star pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami were among the first to receive a rousing welcome. They are followed by batting coach Vikram Rathour, all-rounder Shardul Thakur, spinner Kuldeep Yadav and opening batter Shubman Gill.
Head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma and his deputy Hardik Pandya were also spotted. However, veteran batter Virat Kohli did not travel with the team. According to reports, he will join the team well in time for the warm-up game.

Will rain play spoilsport again?
Notably, both India and the Netherlands' first warm-up games were called off due to rain. While the India-England match was abandoned without a ball being bowled, the Netherlands vs Australia were called off during the second innings. Even though there is a threat of rain in Thiruvananthapuram for the upcoming match, the fans are hoping to get a game.
India will begin their World Cup campaign against five-time champions Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. On the other hand, the Netherlands will kick off their journey against Pakistan on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The final group match of the tournament is between India and Netherlands on November 12 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
