Suryakumar Yadav played an extraordinary inning in the third T20I against England on July 10. His team needed to chase down 216 runs to clean sweep the hosts for the first time in T20I cricket. However, the Men In Blue had a poor start as they lost three wickets for 31 runs inside the powerplay. But Suryakumar Yadav wasn't ready to give up the chase.
The right-hander started playing some extraordinary shots and, singlehandedly, kept the team in the hunt for the chase. During the innings, he played a shot towards the third man. At that time, he was batting at 65 and the team needed 98 runs off 41 balls. The best part about the shot is that it was played against a full-length delivery aimed at the stumps. The 31-year-old used his wrist and played the shot.
This shot invoked an 'oomph' factor and former England opener and commentator Nick Knight remarked, ” Extraordinary shot from an extraordinary player.”

However, despite his heroic knock, the team couldn't go on to win the game. The reason for that is the lack of support from others. Even though Shreyas Iyer stitched a partnership of 119 runs, he didn't hit enough boundaries when the team required to score more than 13 runs per over.
As a result, India lost the game by 17 runs and finished the series 2-1 as they had won the first two games. Now, both teams will play the three-match ODI series to conclude the all-format tour. The first game will be played at The Oval on July 12. The Rohit Sharma's men will be looking to win the series and start building their team for the next year's ODI World Cup.
On the other hand, the Three Lions will be looking to put behind the T20I disappointment and start afresh in the 50-over games under their new skipper Jos Buttler. This will be his first ODI series as full-time captain.
