One shouldn’t disagree with the fact that Suryakumar Yadav is from a different planet. The kind of shots and the kind of form he is in, one could only bow down to this man. The Indian batter has been scoring runs for fun at the moment.
In the ongoing T20I game against Sri Lanka, he is making a mockery of the Sri Lankan bowling attack. Suryakumar is hitting both good as well as bad deliveries out of the park. The Indian batter set his intentions clear right from the start and dealt most of the deliveries in boundaries.
Be it spinners or pacers, Yadav hasn’t spared anyone. His ability to hit on all parts of the ground hasn't allowed the bowlers to settle and put pressure on him. Yadav has been phenomenal both on the off and the on side.
Yadav is known to hit unorthodox shots such as paddle sweep, reverse sweep, and scoop to name a few. In the ongoing match as well, he tried a few and got great results on most of them.
In the 13th over of the innings bowled by Madushanka, Suryakumar Yadav came across the crease to a high full-toss and went for a paddle sweep. He managed to scoop it, which went for a six.
Suryakumar took his eyes off while playing the shot and also fell to the ground. Nevertheless, the ball still went for a six. It was one of the most difficult shots that he hit for a six.
The video of that six has been doing the rounds on the internet. Here’s a look at that:
