He's one of the best batters in the world: Richardson

The pacer said after the first innings that he was happy to see the back of Suryakumar and rated him one of the best batters in the world at the moment. Commenting on playing in the warm-up match, Richardson said that it was a feel-good moment and said that he enjoyed the game.

“I think it was the first time he missed the middle of the bat against us. He's one of the best batters in the world at the moment (on Surya Kumar Yadav), so it was good taking him. I'm not expecting to start, but if anything happens with form or injury, I could be in, just happy to be out in the middle today,” Richardson said after the first innings.

“The atmosphere is really nice, we'll go out there and enjoy our stint in the middle, the sun is out and it's a good batting pitch. Disappointed to play in front of an empty stadium, we usually have it filled for games against India,” he added further.

With regard to the match, Australia’s captain Aaron Finch scored a massive 76 and helped the Kangaroos inch closer to the target. However, the team lost the match by 7 runs and it was all glory to Rohit Sharma and his men. Mohammed Shami's first over after his return turned out to be a great one as he racked up three wickets and a run out to dismiss Australia for 180 runs.
