Hardik Pandya-led new-faced team India is locking horns with New Zealand in the second of the three-match T20I series. Both teams are playing this match at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The Kiwi skipper won the toss and decided to bowl first against the men in blue in the first legal match of the series as the series opener was washed out due to the rain without a ball bowled.
This match is also a comeback match for the 27-year-old batter Shreyas Iyer who was not a part of the T20I schemes of India for the last couple of days. Although, things didn’t go in the favor of Shreyas Iyer when he came to bat against the Kiwis in the penultimate match of the three-match T20I series.
Iyer was playing comfortably on 13 runs off 9 balls with one boundary and a six to his name. But he happened to lose his wicket with a hit wicket in the 13th over of the match. It all happened when the opponent pacer Lockie Ferguson came up with the fourth ball of the over to bowl. The Indian number four batter played it to the on-side and subsequently, he ended up hitting the stumps with his feet and got out on the individual score of only 13 runs.
