Indian team has reached Zimbabwe for the three-match ODI series under the leadership of KL Rahul. Whereas senior batter Shikhar Dhawan will be there in the role of Rahul’s deputy. The men in blue will play the first of the three-match ODI series on the 18th of August (Thursday).
Notably, senior batter KL Rahul is back in the team after recovering from the injury and is ready for the captaincy of the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
The team has started practice in the nets for the first ODI commencing tomorrow against the hosts. Meanwhile, young wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan came up with a funny video alongside Shubman Gill and Senior batter Shikhar Dhawan.

Team India to make some changes in the playing XI
Speaking of the game, then it is almost clear that skipper KL Rahul will open the batting for India with vice-captain and senior batter Shikhar Dhawan. It also translates into the fact that Ishan Kishan might get a chance down the order along with wicketkeeping. Apart from that, the management might also think about including Sanju Samson in the playing XI.
There are also the possibilities that Shubman Gill or Ruturaj Gaikwad might get a chance to bat at number 3 in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. The chances for Gill are quite high as he had an amazing ODI series against West Indies where he scored 205 runs in three matches.
Following the conclusion of the ODI series against Zimbabwe, the Indian team will go into the Asia Cup 2022 under the leadership of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. The multi-team continental tournament is commencing on the 27th of August with the first match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. India will play their first match against arch-rivals Pakistan on the 28th of August.
