Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun's latest film Pushpa: The Rise has taken the world by storm. So much so, that it has become a sensation in the cricketing world as well. Several cricketers have already gone on to copy the lead actor from this movie.
Players like Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, David Warner, Dwayne Bravo have already copied the Tollywood star on or off the field. Shakib Al Hasan is the latest entry in this list as he was recently seen mimicking the signature style of Pushpa. He did it during the Bangladesh Premier League 2022, against the Comilla Victorians.
As a matter of fact, he isn't the first player to enact Allu Arjun in Bangladesh's T20 league as Bravo and Nazmul already did it before him. Nevertheless, it was during the eighth match of this edition of the tournament.
During the first innings, while bowling the fifth ball of the sixth over, Shakib invited the South African legend Faf du Plessis to hit the ball in the air. However, he mistimed it and thus, ended up giving a simple catch to Ziaur Rahman standing at long-on. Thus, the Fortune Barishal captain celebrated his wicket with the signature step from Pushpa.

That wasn't it as the all-rounder went on to pick another wicket, and ended with figures of 2/25 in his full quota of four overs. However, the Victorians still ended up scoring 158/7 in the first innings. Although the Shakib-led side had to chase just 159 in the second innings, they lost early wickets.
They never recovered from it as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Thus, Fortune Barishal were bundled out for 95. With three wickets in his four overs, Nahidul Islam starred with the ball, and also went on to win the player of the match award.
