Bangladesh Test skipper and veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has gradually made an image of a frustrated cricketer on the field, mostly on the match officials. It has been seen several times when the 35-year-old lost his cool during the matches, and it happened mainly in the games of the domestic circuit.
A similar happened recently in a match in the Bangladesh Premier League when Shakib shouted out of frustration at the umpire for a wide-ball decision. The video of this particular incident from the match between Fortune Barishal and Sylhet Strikers is now making rounds on social media.
Here’s the video of when Shakib Al Hasan screamed at the on-field umpire:

Notably, it’s not the first time that Shakib came up with this kind of unchivalrous attitude in a match of Bangladesh’s domestic circuit. Earlier in 2021, during a match in Dhaka Premier League, he went on to the extent of uprooting the entire three stumps of the non-striker’s end while expressing his displeasure with a decision of the umpire.
Although, he realized his mistake and went on to come up with an apology for the same later onwards.
"I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home. An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens unfortunately," said Shakib at the time of the incident two years back in 2021.
Recently, he was also in the headlines for his statement in which he accused the BCB of mismanagement of the T20 leagues and a clash of the domestic lineup with some other major international assignments.
"If they made me the BPL CEO, it would take me one or two months to correct everything. You have seen the movie, Nayak, right? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day," said the veteran southpaw in a press conference.
