WATCH: Shaheen Afridi gives gift and congratulates Jasprit Bumrah on becoming father

Shaheen Afridi congratulated Jasprit Bumrah for his newborn child with a gift and wished him for the fatherhood.

Jasprit Bumrah had returned to Mumbai for the birth of his first child before the game against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023. As a result, the star pacer was ruled out from the game. Mohammed Shami replaced Bumrah in the match. In their Instagram handle, Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan shared the happy moment of becoming parents. The fans wished the couple on the internet and showered blessings.

As Bumrah returned to the team, he joined the team to resume the tournament. In the practice session which was held in R Premadasa stadium in Colombo ahead of the match against Pakistan, Bumrah took part and practiced for the match. After the session, the Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi wen to Bumrah and congratulated him for the birth of the new child. 

Shaheen personally went to Bumrah after the practice session with a gift. In the viral video uploaded by the twitter handle of Pakistan cricket, Shaheen was seen wishing Bumrah with kind words. The sweet conversation between the two star bowlers was so adorable, which won the hearts of the cricket fans. The fans saw the brighter side of the meeting and hoped for a cracking match between the two teams.

As Shaheen interacted with Bumrah, he said “Brother, huge congratulations! Here is a small gift from my side. May the almighty keep you and your family happy. Let the newborn become the next Bumrah,” and gifted the Indian pacer. Bumrah acknowledged the sweet gesture of Shaheen and thanked him for every message. There was a visible happiness on the face of both the cricketers.  

The Indian pacer missed out from international cricket for nearly a year. In the period, the Indian cricket team missed the services of their star bowler. The right-arm pacer recently made a comeback to the Indian side and led India to a series win against Ireland. It is interesting to note that the 29-year-old is yet to bowl an over in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.
