Sarfaraz Ahmed, the Champions Trophy-winning captain from Pakistan, has been out of the cricketing action of late. The wicket-keeper has only one person to blame for it and it is himself as he has become poor over time. The veteran could never really find form post-2019 World Cup and is now playing in the Kingdom Valley National T20 Cup 2022/23.
During one of the league matches against Balochistan, Sindh player Sarfaraz Ahmed got out to Khasif Bhatti and used the word ‘Chu**y*’ to let out his frustration. This was caught in the stump mic and the commentators foresaw the incident and went on with it. However, the umpires did not as they made a claim of breaching Article 2.3 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel of the cricket board of Pakistan.
The wicket-keeper has been fined thirty per cent of his match fees for breaching Article 2.3, which speaks of ‘Use of audible obscenity’. On-field umpires Mohammad Asif and Imtiaz Iqbal, third umpire Rashid Riaz and fourth umpire Nasir Hussain imposed the sanctions and it was proposed by Nadeem Arshad, the match referee.

Fans, on the other hand, were not happy with the conduct of the player either. In recent times, cricket fans expect the utmost discipline from the players and even a small breach of conduct leads to a huge backlash.
Balochistan reign over Sindh
Speaking of the match, Sindh got off to a great start in the tournament and came into the match undefeated. They won all two matches and remained at number one before their match against Balochistan. However, the latter put an end to the former's run as they defeated Sindh by five wickets.
The Saud Shakeel-led Sindh team put on a decent score of 142 for the loss of seven wickets after winning the toss. Saad Khan and Sarfaraz Ahmed came up with decent scores of 31 and 29 to help the team reach the total.
However, the Balochistan batters were on task and clinched the win by five wickets on the back of a splendid 53* from Shaan Mahsood as he went on to win the man of the match award.
