The whole of India became happy on 17 September when they won the Asia Cup 2023 after defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in Colombo. Rohit Sharma managed to win this title for the second time as skipper. After the win, the Team India skipper attended a press conference but during that, he was seen taking a pause as firecrackers were heard bursting outside to celebrate the victory.
Then, he came up with a cheeky request for fans and said: "Arre World Cup jeetne ke baad phodo yeh sab (Burst all this after we win the World Cup)". Listening to that, all the reporters in the room were left in splits and after that, he continued with the conference again. Meanwhile, it was an easy victory for the Men in Blue in the final.

Rohit Sharma scored 194 runs in the Asia Cup 2023
While bowling first, they bundled the Lankans for just 50 runs in 15.2 overs and then, chased down the target in just 6.1 overs. Mohammed Siraj won the Player of the Match award for his six-wicket haul.
After the match, Rohit heaped praises on his bowlers and said: "It was a great performance, especially to come and play like that in a final. Shows the mentality of the team. Our seamers are actually working really hard for many years, so it's pleasing for the side to see them rewarded like that. Very clinical. A performance like that will be cherished for a very long time.”
Rohit had a decent tournament with the bat as he scored 194 runs in five innings, at an average of 48.50, including three fifties. In the final, he did not come out to open as Ishan Kishan came out to bat alongside Shubman Gill. Now, he will be in action in the upcoming three-match home ODI series against Australia. Then, Rohit will look to guide his team to the upcoming ODI World Cup triumph as they will begin their campaign on 8 October in Chennai against the Aussies.
