During the first innings of the qualifier 1 match of the Indian T20 League 2022 between Rajasthan and Kolkata on Tuesday, Ravichandran Ashwin and Riyan Parag got involved in a huge mix-up. Ravichandran Ashwin faced the last ball of the innings and Parag was at the non-striker end. Yash Dawal bowled a wide-delivery outside off.
Riyan Parag had run for a single, second after the Yash Dayal completed his follow-through and reached Ashwin’s end till the time the ball had reached Saha’s gloves. However, Ashwin didn’t even try to run and was stood at his crease. As a result, Parag got run out. Following the dismissal, the Rajashtan young batter stood there in disbelief while giving a death stare to Ravichandran Ashwin.
Fan on Twitter also slammed Ashwin for not taking the single. Ashwin played the last ball as well and took a brace. You can see the video of Rayan Parag getting run-out here.

Rajasthan managed to post a formidable score of 188 runs at the end of the first innings. Sanju Samson played a valuable knock of 47 runs in 26 balls. Jos Buttler played an important knock of 89 runs in 56 balls, including 12 fours and 2 sixes.
However, despite posting such a big score, Gujarat managed to chase it down in 19.3 overs. Mathew Wade and Shubman Gill set the tone with a 72-run partnership. Both of them, however, departed in the first half of the innings. Hardik Pandya then joined hands with David Miller and the duo put on an unbeaten 106-run partnership to take the team over the line in 19.3 overs.
Rajasthan didn’t have a great outing with the ball. None of the bowlers were impressive with the ball as they were guilty of not bowling in the right areas. Having said that, the dew also played a big part as well. Despite the loss, all is not over for Rajasthan yet. They will get one more chance in the Qualifier 2 game, which is scheduled to played on Friday.
