A similar ‘larger than life’ moment has happened with the Kolkata-based 28-year-old pacer Mukesh Kumar who made his debut in First-Class cricket seven years back in the year 2015.

Since then, he was dreaming of his debut for the national side of India which came true yesterday after a long wait. Finally, the Indian selectors have picked Mukesh in the squad of the Indian team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa.

Currently, Mukesh Kumar is playing in the Irani Trophy for the Rest of India against Saurashtra. He got to know about his selection for the highest level when he was added to the WhatsApp group of the national cricket team of India. Just at the moment when his ROI mates came to know about his selection in the national squad, they cared about nothing while celebrating the moment with highly joyous hearts and noises for the speedster.

In the video posted by a Twitter user, the ROI players can be seen celebrating Mukesh’s selection while they were in the team bus. Two players can be heard in the video saying, “Hey Vinod! Haa bhaiya? Pata hain na tum Indian team me select hue? Haa bhaiya.” Just after this dialogue, ROI players laughed loudly and cheered collectively for Mukesh, “Three cheers for Mukesh, Hip Hip Hurray, Hip Hip Hurray, Hip Hip Hurray”.

Speaking of his domestic career, then Mukesh Kumar has stunned everyone with his stellar performances in First-Class cricket where he scalped 109 wickets in 52 innings of the 30 matches. Whereas, he has also claimed 17 wickets in 18 List-A matches alongside 19 wickets in 17 T20s.

India and South Africa will lock horns with each other in the three-match ODI series just after the conclusion of the ongoing three-match T20I series against the visitors.
