Standing against everyone's expectations, Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup 2022 Final and took home the prized Cup for a record-breaking sixth time. The country then experienced a festival-like celebration. However, the Pakistani camp's scenes stood in stark contrast to those in the Sri Lankan one. After a batting collapse, the team's locker room was disappointed, as were the spectators in the stadium and online.
The team must be frustrated after losing the championship game to the underdogs despite being one of the competition's favourites. This also stands true for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President, Ramiz Raja. His behaviour with a journalist after the loss indicates how frustrated he was.
“Aawam badi nakhush hain, unke naam koi Sandesh? (People are very disappointed, any message for them?)” A journalist asked Ramiz Raja after the match. To which the former cricketer responded angrily. He said, “Dekhen aap Indian se honge to aapke to bahut khush honge (See you’re from India so your people must certainly be happy).”
The former Pakistan cricketer was upset by the question and moved toward the reporter, snatching his phone, which he immediately gave back. The video of the incident has gone viral over the internet.
The journalist in question uploaded the video on his Twitter handle, questioning if he did something wrong. "Was my question wrong- Are Pakistan fans not disappointed? This was very wrong, as a chairman of a board you should not have snatched my phone- that’s not right Mr. Chairman Taking my phone was not right @TheRealPCB @iramizraja," he wrote.

क्या मेरा सवाल ग़लत था - क्या पाकिस्तान के फ़ैन नाखुश नहीं है - ये बहुत ग़लत था एक बोर्ड के चेयरमैन के रूप में - आपको मेरा फ़ोन नहीं छीनना चाहिये था - that’s not right Mr Chairman Taking my phone was not right @TheRealPCB @iramizraja #PAKvSL #SLvsPAK pic.twitter.com/tzio5cJvbG

As for the match, despite taking five early wickets, Pakistan's bowlers still allowed Sri Lanka to put up a respectable total on the board. While chasing the huge target of 171 runs, the batters faltered and could not do much. They could only muster 147 runs, which gave the hosts a 23-run victory. Mohammad Rizwan, with his score of 55 runs in 49 balls, tried his best but could not take his team through.
