The Pakistan Cricket Team has arrived in India after seven long years. They received a grand welcome at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup. All the 15-player squad as well as coaching and support staff landed in the 'city of pearls'. They were provided high security while they landed as the crowd burst out in large numbers.
Due to political problems both the teams have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13. The entire airport was filled with numerous fans chanting the names of skipper Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi. The players were delighted with the welcome they received at the airport. They had a long nine-hour layover in Dubai after leaving Lahore on Wednesday.
Pakistan Cricket Team last came to India in 2016 for the T20 World Cup. The players took to their official social media accounts to display their joy. Captain Babar Azam, pacer Shaheen Afridi, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

The heavy security and police led the team through the airport to the team bus to the hotel in Hyderabad. In the hotel, they were warmly welcomed as well with showering and scarfs from the hotel they will be staying. PCB posted a video of their arrival in India to the hotel. The Asian Giants are going to play two warm-up matches. Before Babar Azam's side started their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Babar said earlier in the press conference, "All of us are proud of travelling for the World Cup. Although we have not played in India before, we are not taking too much pressure. We have done our research and we have heard the conditions are similar to how they play out in other Asian countries. It is quite an honour for me to travel as the captain this time around, I hope we come back with a trophy this time."
They will play India on 14th October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
