Nepal player Dipendra Singh Airee has created a few records and broken a few. In the inaugural game of the Men's Cricket Competition in the ongoing Asian Games 2023, Nepal and Mongolia played each other. The Mongolians won the toss and elected to bowl first. This decision turned out to be a hellish nightmare. However, they had a fine start after taking two wickets for 66 runs in 7.2 overs.

The opening pair of Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh struggled to get going. However, their wickets turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Apparently, skipper Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla put together 193 runs for the third wicket in just 10.5 overs. The former smashed 61 off 27 balls including two fours and six sixes. After his wicket at 18.1 overs and 259 runs on the board, Airee came in.

In the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh smashed a 12-ball fifty. In the must-win Super Eight game against England, Singh started his innings with a six-ball 14. Ahead of the famous over against Stuart Broad, the left-hander was riled up by Andrew Flintoff. This led to the Punjab player hitting six sixes in the over.

It proved vital in the end as India won the game by 18 runs. Meanwhile, it has taken 16 years to break this record. Airee has managed to do so. When he came out to bat against the Mongolians, 11 balls were left in the game. In the 10 balls he faced, he hit eight sixes and hit nine-ball fifty, the fastest any batter can hit in the game.

Thanks to his innings and Kushal Malla's 50-ball 137 not out, the team reached the highest total in the shortest format of the game. They amassed 314/3. In reply, the Mongolians were bowled out for 41 runs, losing the game by 273 runs. The second-highest victory margin in the game is the 257 runs against Turkey by the Czech Republic.
