Team India had two new stars make their debut on Thursday during the third Test vs England in Rajkot. Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan earned their India debut to make their families proud.

Naushad Khan, Sarfaraz Khan's father, was overwhelmed with emotions when the cap was presented to his son. The father and son exchanged a tight hug in what was a moment filled with love and true bond.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also was seen having a word with Naushad Khan before the play could begin. The 36-year-old had a heart-to-heart chat with Sarfaraz’s father along with the better half of the cricketer. 

Emotional scenes witnessed in Rajkot – 

Rohit Sharma approached Naushad Khan and told him “Aap ne jo kia who sabko maloom hai” said Rohit Sharma. To which Naushad Khan replied, “Sir please dhyan rakhna”. The Indian skipper nodded and said “Bilkul”.

Sarfaraz Khan made his debut in amazing circumstances and the fans were amazed by his batting. The 26-year-old scored 62 runs from just 66 balls before he was run out in unfortunate circumstances. 

Speaking to the media at the end of the day, the young batter said, “I felt really happy. Coming to the ground for the first time and got the cap in front of my father. I was six years old when he started my cricket.”

Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma had made the young batter wait as they added 204 run stand. Once he came out to bat there was no stopping him as he played spin and pace with ease. 

“I was padded for almost four hours. I kept thinking that I have kept so much patience in life and there is no harm in keeping some more. After I went in, was nervous for the first few balls but I have practiced and worked so hard that everything went well,” said Sarfaraz Khan

India was bowled out for 445 in their first innings just the tea break could take place. India’s skipper Rohit Sharma top scored with 131 while Ravindra Jadeja scored 112. Debutant Dhruv Jurel batted well to score 46 before he was dismissed while looking for a boundary.
