According to a report by Sports Tiger, Dhoni is keeping himself busy in order to be fit for the upcoming fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league. Of late, several pictures of the Ranchi cricketer have been doing the rounds on social media. He was recently seen practising in Ranchi's stadium as well.

Thus, alongside net sessions, Dhoni was seen playing Tennis and football. Earlier, he was reportedly in Chennai, to prepare for the upcoming mega auction. The defending champions have retained four players, them being Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali.

The mega auction is slated to take place on February 12 and 13. Yet, amidst all the hype, there were a few speculations regarding the keeper-batter not leading the franchise in the 2022 edition. However, a source from the franchise confirmed that Dhoni will be leading the four-time champions once again.

"There have been no discussions regarding the matter. We will cross the bridge when the time comes. Dhoni is our captain. He is the first player of Chennai and when he decides to step down, he will make that call. We are now focused on the auction," a Chennai source was quoted as saying by InsideSport
