Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj has been one of India’s best Test bowlers in the current scenario of the cricketing world. The 28-year-old made his first appearance for the Indian team against Australia in the Melbourne Test two years back in the year 2020. Since then, he has played 13 Tests so far and scalped 40 wickets with a very good economy rate of 3.31 having a best of five wickets in the inning by conceding 73 runs.

It was Siraj whose eight-wicket haul in the Lord’s Test helped India to clinch the win with a massive margin. Seeing him bowling on the English turfs gives a similar feel to watching William Shakespeare coming up with his best of the novels for the lovers of the literature, bowling on English tracks is just like that for Siraj.

Recently, he has impressed everyone again with an excellent outing while playing against Somerset in the English County Championship. He went on to scalp five wickets and played a vital role in bundling up Somerset only on the score of 219. Pakistan batter Imam-ul-Haq was also one of his five wickets. Other than Imam, Siraj also scalped wickets of George Bartlett, James Rew, Lewis Gregory, and Josh Davey. He registered the figure of five wickets by conceding just 82 runs with six maidens in 24 overs.
