England and Australia are currently competing in the second ODI of their three-match series. The team led by Josh Hazlewood for this match posted a good total of 280 with the bat in the first innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Following that, they had a terrific start with the ball, thanks to Mitchell Starc's brilliance.
The pace sensation took two wickets in the first over itself and followed it up with another in the sixth over. The wicket of in-form Dawid Malan caught the most attention of the three he took in the first spell. Malan had scored an excellent century in the previous match but was dismissed for a duck in this game. His wicket was very important for Australia.
On the fifth delivery of the first over, Starc bowled a tight good-length delivery that swung just the right amount to sneak past Malan's bat. It went on to hit the off-stump, and Starc began his celebratory run. The video of the same has been doing rounds on the internet.

Earlier in the same over, Starc got the wicket of Jason Roy for another duck. He bowled it short and down the leg. Roy found himself in an awkward position as he attempted to get inside the delivery line. The ball slid through the glove and was caught by wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
As for the first innings, half-centuries from Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Marcus Stoinis helped the Kangaroos get to a total of 280/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Smith, with 94 runs in 114 deliveries, was the pick of the batters for Australia.
Australia currently leads the three-match series 1-0. A win here will seal the deal for the home team. On the other hand, England will look to get a win here to stay alive in the competition. The T20I leg of the series was played before the 20-20 World Cup started, which England comfortably won 2-0.
