Australia and England locked horns in the first of the three-match ODI series at the WACA stadium in Perth. The visitors outplayed the Aussies in the series opener as they won the match by a close margin of eight runs to gain the lead of 1-0. Skipper Jos Buttler and opener Alex Hales made the day for England.
Apart from the result and action of the match, a moment from the Australian innings went viral on social media. It all happened when Matthew Wade was facing English pacer Mark Wood during the run chase of the hosts.
In the video that went viral over social media, it can be seen that Wade lofted the ball in the air at the batting end only. Subsequently, Wood ran to catch the ball, and eventually, the Australian batter happened to intentionally interrupt the way of Mark Wood, and eventually, the latter couldn’t catch the ball. Although, the English side didn’t appeal against Wade for Obstructing the field.
Later on, the video of this incident went viral on social media within minutes of being shared on the social media platform, Twitter.

Speaking of the match, then the Aussie skipper Aaron Finch asked the visitors to bat first at the turf of WACA in Perth. The opening pair of skipper Jos Buttler and senior batter Alex Hales provided an outstanding start of 132 runs for the first wicket for England. Both batters played brilliant half-century knocks of 68 and 84 runs respectively. These knocks helped the English team to post a big total of 208 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, Australia got an early blow as they lost the young batter Cameron Green fell prey to Reece Topley only on the individual score of one run and the team’s score of 15 runs. David Warner played a struggling knock of 73 runs off 44 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. However, this knock went in vain as England won the match by eight runs in the end.
